Kristina has over 20 years of technical dance training. She studied as a young dancer at Westside Dance Academy, Beaverton Arts and Communication Magnet Academy and Dance Vision. She competed in local, regional and national competitions with Westside Performing Co. and as a member of the Tigard High School Tigerettes. All of this combined helped her develop a broad dance education in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip-Hop and Modern with a strong emphasis on performance.
She attended Chapman University, where she was a member of the school's hip-hop team "Team Shaka." Being in California also allowed her to take master classes from some of the best in the industry, and familiarize herself with the professional audition process. Kristina has enjoyed learning from Mia Michaels, Chris Judd, Brian Friedman, Stephen "tWitch" Boss, Benji Schwimmer, Denise Leitner, Dana Wilson, Tony Testa, Nick Lazzarini, Teddy Forance, Mina Ortega and Oscar Hernandez. She was a member of Pure Dance Company, under the direction of Sonya Duffin, from 2009-2012.
In addition to performing and dancing, Kristina has coached and assisted various dance team programs including Tualatin High School and Synergy Middle School and has also taught at several studios in the Portland area. She is the current head coach and choreographer of the Pride Dance Team at Wilsonville High School and in addition to teaching classes at the studio, she continues to reach students around the state by teaching at Stayton and Thunderbird dance camps.
Kristina believes students of all backgrounds should have access to quality training, and enjoys instilling a passion for dance in her students as well as teaching technical skills. She also believes continued education is essential to teaching and continues to take class and learn whenever possible!
